sleeping disorder has dramatically changed my brother’s life and ours. he can not fight it. he can not sleep at nights and he can only sleep when it’s 6am-7am. and wakes up around 3-4 pm everyday.
he does not have internet or satellite TV to stay awake for cause he moved to a new house 5 months ago and we are trying to skip registering for those cause he might stay awake.
he is now 24 and this disease started to occur when he was 17-18 so it is years he’s been like this and therefore he misses his college, job and many other normal routines in life.
Doctors say he has sleeping disorder but they can’t cure him.he is taking pills but no effect. the pills give him a very high body temperature so he sleeps directly under air condition but still he can’t sleep.
what should we do? what kind of sleeping disorder is this?
he’s not on drugs. he’s just on medication
Look up Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder. Circadian disorders
It is treated with Melatonin, Sam-e, sleep meds, light therapy, working night shift, Neurologists, endogrinologists
It’s fairly newly diagnosed disorder and I know of no cure yet
That is weird, because it seems as if his days and nights are mixed up. You said he falls asleep at 7am and wakes at 3-4pm, so he is getting enough sleep, it is just at the wrong time………………Sorry to ask, but is he on drugs?
or maybe he has some kind of night anxiety????
Note: I am sorry, that is a very hard situation to deal with. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas
