<p>The above tip assumes that you are the snorer who sleeps on his back. If you already sleep on your side and still snore loudly, different methods will be needed. In addition, avoid sleeping face-down; it is stressful on the neck and reduces the expansive capacity of your lungs.</p>
<p>Next on our short list of snoring remedies is losing weight. This is quite arguably the toughest remedy to put to use, but it can produce great results. The reason you will want to lose weight is specifically to lose fat deposits around the neck. These fat deposits weigh down and cause air passages to constrict, causing a different but undeniable snore. When you lose weight, the pressures are relieved, the airways become clearer, airflow becomes less turbulent, and thus you stop snoring.</p>
<p>Sometimes it is not quite the soft tissue, but rather the mucus inside those cavities. Normally, mucus keeps these passages lubricated and moist. When the surrounding air is too dry however, the body overcompensates and produces too much mucus.</p>
<p>This mucus then becomes the obstruction that causes a snoring sound. Thus, the third on this list of snoring remedies is to inhale steam before going to bed or to increase humidity in your bed room. These will either melt the mucus away or lower the likelihood of overproduction of mucus. The added effect is better sleep, since you will not have to strain so hard to breathe than as with having blocked nasal passages.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">If you snore it may make you feel better knowing that that 45% of all adults snore occasionally, and 25% snore almost all the time. Males, overweight people, and older adults are more likely to suffer from problem snoring.</p>
<p>What actually causes people to snore? Snoring is caused by a vibration of the uvula and soft palate and is experienced by almost half of the population at some stage in life. Also sleep apnea causes snoring. Another reason is that as men get older there is an area of skin in the throat that folds over and blocks the air passage thus causes breathing problems.</p>
<p>You need not suffer from sleepless nights from being woken up by your own snoring. There are solutions that you can try and it doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean that you need to abruptly cut alcohol intake or to avoid the food which satisfies your appetite. You can start from small steps to helping yourself against snoring problems. There are many snoring remedies available, some more effective than others at helping to cure your snoring problem. Anti snoring devices like mouthpieces, chin straps, and snoring pillows are often tried, although I found a far more effective form of help in snoring exercises.</p>
<p>I have listed a few of the most common snoring remedies currently on the marking below:</p>
<p>Do not drink or take any drugs before going to sleep</p>
<p>Snoring is usually caused by loose tissue in the throat that vibrates when you breathe. When this tissue becomes too relaxed this can then cause snoring. Alcohol in the form of wine, beer or spirits just before going to bed can relax the tissue enough to cause snoring. Likewise, any kind of drug that causes muscles to become relaxed will also relax the tissue in your throat and cause snoring. If you need to drink or take any drugs, if possible try to take them at least 2 hours before retiring. If you have been prescribed to take any medication before bedtime please consult your doctor before changing any drug taken patterns.</p>
<p>Food that can help snoring</p>
<p>Dairy products are known to increase mucous production in some people. This extra mucous can restrict the airway passages and lead to, or intensify, snoring. This is real unfortunate as a lot of people make a point of drinking a glass of milk prior o bedtime, believing it helps them attain a good nights rest. In fact, we now know that in certain people, the milk actually only contributes to their snoring. Cheese, can have the same effect. Other foods that can contribute to snoring are wheat, fatty foods, and processed foods.</p>
<p>Should you decide to go down this path to help stop your snoring, please remember that we all need to eat a balanced diet? The consequence of removing a particular food or restricting the intake of a food group should be discussed with a medically qualified professional. In addition to the other food mentioned above, dairy products provide a high proportion of calcium and other components needed for a healthy body.</p>
<p>Stop Snoring Pillow</p>
<p>Another one of the many solutions to stop snoring is a snoring pillow. These specially designed foam snoring pillows are made in a way to keep a person sleeping on their side instead of their back.</p>
<p>CPAP Machine</p>
<p>The most popular sleep apnea used today is CPAP. Doctors say that CPAP is the most effective non-surgical treatment that is available to eliminate sleep apnea and snoring.</p>
<p>If you snoring is loud enough to disturb your family or you are sleeping during the daytime, breathing being obstructed at night, or left tired in the morning then maybe using a CPAP is the best solution for you. Your otolaryngologies would be best placed to advise you in this regard.</p>
<p>The majority of sleep apnea masks are triangular, with adjustable straps that wrap around the head to keep the sleep apnea mask in place. Generally sleep apnea masks consist of a hard plastic body and a softer silicone seal. The CPAP consists of a portable machine with a mask, tubes and fan. The patient wears the sealed mask, which is connected to a hose, over the nose during sleep. CPAP works by gently blowing pressurized air through the nasal passage at a pressure high enough to prevent the throat from collapsing during sleep. The masks should fit well, as the masks are only effective when there is a seal that doesn&#8217;t enable air to slip through. To make sure the seal is correct, the straps that go around the head must be properly fitted, not too loose or too tight.</p>
<p>Some people may find the cost of the mask a downside as they can retail for approximately $1000 however this may not be considered a great expenditure if it actually helps you to stop snoring.</p>
<p>Exercise cures for snoring</p>
<p>I once read in a newspaper that sticking your tongue out straight ahead and gently tiring to increase the stretching of your tongue farther each day can help reduce snoring. Another tongue exercise cures for snoring can be done by sticking out your tongue the farthest you can and try to reach out for your chin. You may feel this to be a bit far fetched but it did actually work for me and I am sure for many others. Exercising the muscles around the throat area as well as the tongue helps reduce or cure snoring. Although for any anatomical irregularities, it goes without saying that you should consult your doctor.</p>
<p>Weight Loss</p>
<p>If you visit any doctor or health clinic I would be surprised if they do not recommend you to loss weight to help stop snoring (that is if you are overweight off course). Losing weight is off course not only helps with the treatment of your snoring but helps with your overall well being as a person. As such this is a very good option to consider.</p>

<p>Insomnia sleeping disorder is not when you have a few nights you can not sleep for a little while that is transient insomnia, usually due to stress or illness. Even insomnia for a few months is not considered serious, particularly when you can identify the reason for your sleeping problems.</p>
<p>True insomnia sleeping disorder is diagnosed when you have long term problems falling asleep and staying asleep, to the point where you may hallucinate or micro sleep during the day.</p>
<p>In some cases, insomnia sleeping disorder is caused by an underlying mental illness; it is generally marked by some odd sleeping disorder such as severe nightmares, sleepwalking or other sleep behaviors, or talking in your sleep. There are two different types of sleep which are described as rapid eye movement (REM) sleep and non-REM (NREM) sleep. There are four stages of NREM with stage 1 sleep being the lightest and stage 4 being the deepest. Normally, you should cycle through these stages of sleep. But those people who suffer from sleep disorders will have this process interrupted meaning that they rarely if ever complete this cycle. As a result the sufferer will frequently feel tired, generally fatigued and will have trouble concentrating.</p>
<p>The consequences of this interrupted sleep can lead to poor performance and work and can have an impact on relationships. Sufferers will also more prone to accidents, and of course there are particular risks related to driving and operating machinery.</p>
<p>Insomnia is something affects many people at some stage, but it usually a short-term issue, often connected with a particular stress factor that is current in that person&#8217;s life at the time. Physical illness and hormonal changes can also bring about difficulties in sleeping for a while. Generally though, these issues will pass and normal sleep patterns are resumed. However, for some people this is a long-term problem which can seriously affect the subject&#8217;s quality of life. There are a number of possible causes for this including anxiety, depression, stress and a poor sleep routine. There are a number of treatments available including medication, herbal remedies, adjustments to routine and relaxation techniques.</p>
<p>Sleep disorder symptoms can sometimes have their root in disturbances in the circadian rhythms. For example, this can be through a change in shift pattern or jet lag. In these instances, the brain has difficulties adjusting to a change in routine and the fact that sleep is required at a time that it is not normally used to. For those people work night shifts, the very fact that they are trying to get to sleep when it is light outside can pose problems. The fact that it is dark at night is one of the triggers that normally tell the brain that it is time to sleep. Most people will eventually adjust, but for others it can signal the start of on-going sleep problems.</p>

		<title>How to Overcome Insomnia and Other Sleeping Disorder Symptoms</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Sleep is an integral part of lives, but one that is still not entirely understood. We spend around a third of our life sleeping, so it is not surprising that for those people who suffer from sleeping disorder symptoms there is a serious detrimental impact upon their lives. Many of us suffer from some degree of insomnia at some stage in our lives, but usually this is a transient issue passing after a couple of weeks or so. However, for some people this is a long-term issue which will continue for extended periods and with no apparent prospect of abating.</p>
<p>The effect of this chronic insomnia can be tiredness during the day and then falling asleep at inconvenient times. Inevitably this will lead to poor performance at work and relationships with family, friends, partner and work colleagues will suffer. Accidents will be more common and driving will become somewhat hazardous.</p>
<p>If you suffer from insomnia then it may feel like a life sentence with no apparent end in sight. However, there are a number of simple practical steps that may improve the chances of you getting some decent sleep:</p>
<p>Take a long hard look at your bedtime routine. Do you go to bed at a consistent time? Do you have a particular routine, or does it vary from one night to the next? The first thing you should do is instigate a regular routine before you go to bed. It does not matter too much what it is, but it is a process of signaling to your brain that you are getting ready to sleep and you are winding down for the day. So, pre-bedtime routine may involve drinking a milky drink, reading a chapter of a book, brushing your teeth, changing into your pyjamas, etc. Try and be as consistent as possible and try and keep to around the same bedtime. A certain amount of variation is fine, but keep this to a minimum until you are back in a regular sleep pattern.<br />
Turn your alarm clock where you cannot see it. Part of the problem of getting into a pattern of not sleeping is that you start to worry about the fact you are not getting sufficient sleep. This is not helped when you wake up in the early hours of the morning and see what time it is. The effect of this is to raise stress levels, which in itself makes it more difficult to sleep.<br />
Make sure that you have reduced light and noise levels as much as possible. Inevitably this is more difficult in built up areas as you may experience traffic and other noises and some light from street lamps, but think about putting up thick curtains to keep out as much light and noise as possible. Reduced light is one of the signals to the brain that it is time to sleep so this is an important factor to consider.<br />
Try herbal remedies. There a number of options available, including making a lavender sachet to put under the pillow and valerian which is taken in capsule form. It is easy to dismiss herbal remedies as being trendy, but ineffective. However, it has been shown that many herbal remedies can be highly effective in alleviating sleeping disorder symptoms, it is just a case of finding the right one for you.<br />
Try some relaxation techniques. There are a number of different relaxation techniques, so again it is a matter of finding what is right for you. One of my favorite is &#8220;visualization&#8221;. This involves imagining that you are somewhere relaxing, on a tropical island perhaps. What you need to do imagine exactly what it would feel like to be in this situation &#8211; involve all of your senses, imagining the breeze on your skin, the sound of waves breaking on the shore, the smell of flowers and the sea, and so on. Take in each of these senses slowly concentrating on making sure that you fully visualize the experience. Another option is simply to imagine your body slowly relaxing &#8211; start at your fingers or toes and work your way over your body so that eventually you have convinced yourself that your body is well and truly relaxed.</p>
<p>As you can see, there are a number of solutions to insomnia and other sleeping disorder symptoms. However, the first step is to recognise that you have a problem and that you need to deal with it. The consequences of not doing so are of damage to your relationships, problems at work, or even a serious driving accident.</p>

For most people this is a passing problem, usually connected with a particular stressful life event, such as the death of a loved one, or relationship problems. However, for some people this becomes a chronic, seemingly never ending problem which can seriously affect quality of life.</p>
<p>Not surprisingly this can lead to extreme tiredness and irritability during the day, not to mention poor performance and work. In addition, relationships can be affected. There are dangers as well, with the risk of falling asleep when driving, or when operating machinery.</p>
<p>For sufferers it can be immensely frustrating lying awake for what feels like hours at a time willing yourself to get to sleep, but it just refuses to happen. The very fact that you are focusing so much on not being able to sleep will impede your ability to sleep. You need to be able to start the night with believing that you are going to go to sleep, and then be able to relax yourself gradually into sleep.</p>
<p>There are a number of ways of achieving this relaxed state and what works tends to vary from one person to another. For many people, simply reading a book before settling down to sleep will help. You should choose your book carefully however; nothing too exciting (so avoid thrillers) and limit yourself to one chapter (or two chapters if they are very short). Another technique to try is by simply replacing the stressful thoughts that you have begun to associate with trying to get to sleep with something more relaxing. This can be through visualizing a relaxing scene or perhaps by recounting in your mind to a fictional person a journey that you have been on (of course avoid journeys that you associate with stress).</p>
<p>Finally, make sure that you turn your alarm clock where you are not easily able to see it. There is nothing worse to bring about those thoughts of stress which exacerbate your sleeping disorder symptoms than to spend your night looking at how late it is and worrying about how little sleep you are getting.</p>

<p>Sleeping disorders can be very dangerous when they go undiagnosed. A lot of people who suffer from this disorder face a lot of life threatening problems for the reason that having a sleeping disorder can unfortunately dislodge them from living your ordinary life.</p>
<p>Because if they are spending more time distressing about their condition than getting the right amount of sleep then this can really overtake them, and just make matters worst. The predicament with many people who have a sleeping disorder is that they are not conscious of it being a problem until they realise that it is affecting their job and daily life. A large number of accidents that happen at home or at work are also due to people with some kind of sleeping problem. Individuals who go through this can also develop clinical depression since they feel like they are not capable to do any of the things that they used too, if they have been diagnosed with a sleep disorder.</p>
<p>A test called the Polysomnogram which is used to find out and identify a sleep disorder so that specialists and doctors can chart a treatment intended for that individual person as not all treatments are the same. Every now and then people who have disorders such as narcolepsy usually have their brain activity measured to see where they are reaching peak points of sleeping so they can be treated since narcoleptics can not really work on jobs that involve them operating machinery or other things for the reason that they have to be on the alert and wide awake to know what they are doing.</p>
<p>Having a sleeping disorder can make people believe they are not normal, but this is not so because the problem can be treated through medicine.</p>
<p>The normal person sleeps between 6-8 hours, but the most anyone sleeps is 10 hours. Individuals who sleep more than the accepted number of hours tend to throw their bodies off due to the fact that as you would expect we sleep and awake when the day changes. You should get the right amount of rest because your immune system can stress out when you do not get rest which can trigger other medical and health issues from the need of rest.</p>
<p>In this day and age younger people find that lifestyles trigger the use of drugs, drinking, smoking, and a poor diet consisting of a lot of damaging food choices and a lack of exercise and maintaining physical health.</p>
<p>A lot of times a sleep disorder can be caused from sickness or from the medications used to treat an illness. Mental health problems, such as depression, can also trigger on a sleep disorder.</p>
